We have many Ministries here at LCR, and we encourage you to contact the Church office to sign up, or to learn about them.

  • Sunday School

Our Sunday School classes meet from 10:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.

Children Kindergarten through 5th grade attend Children’s Church during the 11:00 service. Please drop children off at the ministry center main doors no later than 10:50. While you are in worship, your child(ren) will participate in fun activities and crafts to learn the same message you will be receiving in church. Your child(ren) will then join you in worship following the Children’s Message.  Children’s Church will resume in the fall.

6th graders are invited to join the Confirmation Class.  Please speak to Pastor if you child has entered 6th grade and would like to join the class.

Adult Class – watch the weekly bulletin and monthly newsletter for information regarding the Adult Class schedule. The Christian Education committee has a variety of Bible-based, thought provoking courses planned.

  • LCR Youth Group

Our youth range in age from 12 to 20. Our youth group is called the “J-Walkers” (Jesus walkers). The youth chose this name themselves because they know we exist because of the love and gift of life that Jesus Christ gave us. Therefore, our youth are an example of this love, and we encourage them to make a difference and positive impact in the lives of everyone they come in contact with.

Our intentions in the future are to have Youth Ministries that the youth will choose based on what God is calling each of them to do. We want them to understand the importance and fulfillment it gives us when we help others and work within God’s path for us. Last  summer, we had our annual confirmation retreat at Luther Springs and a service week at Radius Camp.

We have so much to look forward to and so much to be thankful for. We welcome all new youth with open arms and open hearts. Despite age or interests, we make it a prime focus to joyously collaborate in service activities, fun activities, and ministry projects. I am truly blessed to get to know all of our youth better each time we get together. Please contact Sarah Davis, the youth activities coordinator, if you have any questions. Please also refer to our schedule listed below for upcoming events!

“Be an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12.

  • Compassionate Friends

We need not walk alone…

Our Mission:

The death of a child of any age, from any cause, is a shattering experience for a family. When a child dies, a family needs emotional support for the long grief journey that lies ahead. Since 1990, the Space Coast Chapter of The Compassionate Friends, a self-help support organization for families, has been actively helping families store the positive resolution of their grief following the death of a child. This chapter of The Compassionate Friends meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 6:00 PM at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection. For further information please call (321) 610–7875 or see www.griefsupportdeathofchild.org

  • Prayer Shawl Ministry

Prayer Shawl Ministry members get together in the community center the 2nd Monday of every month to discuss the needs of making prayer shawls, lap robes, scarfs. They knit & crochet and are willing to instruct those who are interested in learning during their scheduled monthly meeting. Donated yarn, needles and other supplies are warmly appreciated. If you are interested please phone the church office.

  • Music Lessons

A variety of different instruments will be taught, including piano, guitar, violin, bass and more.

  • Greeting Card Ministry

The Greeting Card Ministry is a group of volunteers who work together designing and producing cards for various occasions and to be used as an outreach in fellowship by LCR. The group meets once a month and is open to anyone who would like to join. No experience is necessary, just come prepared to have a good time.

  • Sari’s Friends Pantry

We provide food and hygienic items for needy families once a month and to the homeless whenever we are open. In addition we have resource places for food, healthcare, telephones and food stamp registration services available throughout the county. Our normal pantry hours are the first 4 Saturdays of each month from 10 am to 12 noon.

  • Bike Ministry

At our bike ministry we accept donations of used primarily adult bikes in any condition. We refurbish them when we can, or if their condition warrants, we remove any usable parts. We then make the bikes available to those in need. Most often the bikes go to people with no other means of transportation. We mark the bikes and record the name of the recipient. We also repair both bikes we have given and others for those in need. The Bike Ministry is open on the 2nd and 3rd Saturdays of every month from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon.

  • Women’s Monday morning Bible Study

  • Eat, Pray, Love Women’s Fellowship Group

Eat, Pray, Love, Women’s Fellowship Group was started in January of 2014 by a small group of women here at Resurrection Lutheran Church. We are a group of Women from all walks of life and all stages of life who get together weekly to “Eat, Pray, and Love”. We meet at the Ministry Center on Thursday mornings from 9-10:30 a.m. (approx), where we discuss the current book or study we are doing. On the first Thursday of each month, we meet at a local restaurant and have a Fellowship breakfast where we enjoy the company of one another.

Some of the books we have read in the past include: Bad Girls of the Bible (Liz Curtis Higgs) and The Women of Christmas (Liz Curtis Higgs). We also did a study on Matthew as well as The Jesus Quiz by our own Pastor Jay. One of our favorite books was If You Want to Walk on Water, You’ve Got to Get Out of the Boat, by John Ortberg.

Many of the women in the group can’t make it each week, but we have a FaceBook page as well as email so we can keep in touch. Our Thursday’s in the Ministry Center are a pot luck breakfast so there is always something to nibble on.

Our faith in Jesus has grown stronger as well as the bond we share with one another.

If you are interested and would like to join us, please email 3eatpraylove@gmail.com for more information or check the weekly bulletin for updates.
